Product editions
There are two editions of Portrait Professional, Standard and Max.
Both provide the same great tools for enhancing images.
The difference is that Portrait Professional Max also supports professional quality
16 bit per color channel images (48 bits per pixel), and can read RAW image files from most digital cameras.
Regular "true color" images use 8 bits to represent each red, green and blue color
channel, giving 24 bits per pixel. This allows 16,777,216 colors to be represented.
Portrait Professional Max allows 16 bits for each red, green and blue color channel, giving
48 bits per pixel. This allows 281,474,976,710,656 colors to be represented!
To get source images with more than 8 bits per color channel, you will need a camera that
supports this. Most digital SLR cameras allow pictures to be saved in "RAW" format.
Portrait Professional Max can read most RAW image file formats.
In addition, Portrait Professional Max supports TIFF files that contain 16 bits per channel.
